She was born March 2, 1916, in Bessemer, MI, a daughter of Joseph and Stella Kaczor Kubasik. Her family moved to Annsville, when Josephine was one year old and later to Rome, when she was eight years old. She was educated in Rome schools. She was employed at Montgomery Ward and the Union Fork & Hoe during WW II, where she proudly assembled bomb nosepiece detonators for the War effort. Josephine later worked and retired as a food service supervisor at the Rome Developmental Center. She was a member of the Church of the Transfiguration.

Josephine is survived by a son and daughter in law, Gerald and Kathy Stevens of Rome; grandchildren, Kevin A. Stevens, Jason P. Stevens, Jeffrey R. Stevens and Jonathan Stevens; and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Stevens, and three sisters, Mary Narolis, Beatrice Swistak and Helen Kubasik.
