Josephine Juhl, age 93, of Algona, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Kossuth Regional Medical Center. Josephine Kathryn Naig, the daughter of Elmer and Vera (Lawrence) Naig, was born on May 24, 1921 in Cylinder, Iowa. On December 30, 1939 Josephine was united in marriage with Arno Juhl in Emmetsburg, Iowa.

Jo was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity Quilters. She enjoyed writing letters and baking for neighbors, friends and family. Jo also enjoyed making quilts for her grandchildren. Left to cherish Josephine’s memory are her children, Judy (Dave) Dreyer of Oelwein, Terry (Bev) Juhl of Hampton, Dawson (Pam) Juhl of Eagle Grove and Bethene (John) Hovey of Lone Rock; 12 grandchildren; 1 step grandchild; 25 great grandchildren; 5 step great grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Evenson and Marcella Smith both of Emmetsburg and Grace Ann (Alan) Fanning of Illinois; and three brothers, Robert (Marilyn) Naig of Armstrong, Richard (Marilyn) Naig and Gaylord (Janice) Naig all of Emmetsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a great grandson, Dayton Boleneus; two brothers, LeRoy and Charlie Naig; a sister-in-law, June Naig; and two brother-in-laws, Ken Evenson and Wayne Smith. Memorials may be directed to the Diabetic Association.
