Josephine Immaculate (Mercurio) Gray of Clarksburg has gone home to the Lord. She passed away at home with her daughter and niece by her side on February 10, 2012. Josephine was born in Bellport, Long Island, New York, on April 16, 1931, daughter of the late Giovanni and Marie Antoinette (Rene) Mercurio who came to Ellis Island in 1928 from Calabria, Italy.
Josephine retired from Grumman Aerospace Calverton, L.I. New York, after 24 years and moved to Clarksburg with her husband to be closer to her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was also a Faithful Member of our Lady of Perpetual Help in Stonewood, as well as a Member of the American Legion in Clarksburg.
In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J Gray Sr.; her only son, Robert J Gray Jr.; one brother, Edward Mercurio; three sisters, Marie Mercurio, Jenny Zenker, Hilda Fenz; nephews, John Mercurio and Cris J. Fenz.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Terrilynn (Gray) Yoos, and husband John of Clarksburg; three loving grandsons, Timothy J Yoos, and wife Sarah (Straley) Yoos, of Clarksburg, Michael J. Yoos, and wife, Melissa (Power) Yoos, of Mansfield, MA, and Nathan E. Gray, of St. Davids, Wales, UK; one great granddaughter, Isabella Marie Yoos, of Clarksburg who stole her heart, devoted nieces and nephews, Patricia (Fenz) Cezniak, and husband John and son Edward, of Clarksburg, Lourdes (Vega) Fenz and daughter, Camille of Clarksburg, Christine (Mercurio) Lange of Greensboro, N.C.
Josephine was devoted to her family and loved with her whole heart. We were truly blessed to have her touch all our lives, she is going to be so deeply missed but forever will live in our hearts as well as in the hearts of all her dear friends that she treasured and was blessed to know.
Our family would like to thank Father Kent for all his love and Devotion, Dr William Bowles and staff for the many years of heartwarming care, kindness and compassion. God bless them. We also want to thank all the people of hospice staff who took such care with love and compassion through our difficult time they were a godsend.
