Josephine Lieske, 94, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Pleasant View. Josephine was born September 9, 1927, in Streator to Joseph and Maria (Luise) Abbott.
She married Earl V. Lieske on September 11, 1948, at St. Mary’s Church in Streator. Josephine loved cleaning; she had the cleanest house in Ottawa. Mom’s spaghetti sauce will never be duplicated. She also enjoyed slot machines and playing cards. Most of all she loved caring for her husband and children. She devoted her life to caring for her daughter, June as well.
She is survived by six children, Earl (Mary) Lieske Jr., June Marie Lieske, Carol (Yocko) Fraine, Joanne (Bob) Iverson, Diane (Brian) Neilsen, and Peggy (Brian) Allen; 11 grandchildren, Earl III, Judy (Morgan), Greta (Adam), Michelle (Dan), Jenny, Brian Neilsen Jr., Abby (Ty), Gracy, Christian (Hillary), Gabe (Natalie), and Brian (Sara) Allen Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren, Isabella, Primo, Giada, Cameron, Kobe, Jace, Jax, Jonah, Noah, Ella, Crew, and Ford; and a brother, Angelo Abbott.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Earl; brothers, Mike, John, Jimmy, and Chee Chee; sisters, Sara, Millie, and Rosey; and her son-in-law, Bob Iverson.
