Josephine Barker Beale, 93, of Burlington died at the Homeplace of Burlington on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 12:30 AM.
Born on January 11, 1923 in Surry County she was the wife of the late Lloyd George Beale and the daughter of Harry H. Barker and Edith Grier Barker, both deceased. She was a member of the Hoe and Hope Garden Club. Josephine loved to quilt.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary Seth Barbour of Bassett, VA, Katie Weeks and husband Richard of Virginia Beach, Jane Young and husband Buddy of Lake Junaluska, NC, and Nancy Smedberg and husband David of Burlington; a son George B. Beale and wife Gail of Mebane; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
