Joseph Steven Prusa, 46, of New Buffalo, Michigan died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Orchard Grove Extended Care Center in Benton, Harbor, Michigan after an extended illness. Joe was born on December 19, 1967 to Jay F and Carol (Poff) Prusa in Michigan City, Indiana. He grew up in New Buffalo and graduated from New Buffalo High School.
He struggled with life at times, but always loved his family and his roots in New Buffalo. Joe was a jack of all trades and worked for himself in the construction trade. He was a faithful member of the Calvary Tabernacle in Three Oaks his entire life. Joe was proud of his children and adored his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Andrew (Sonja) Prusa of Benton Harbor, Michigan; Adam Prusa of Three Oaks, Michigan and Allison (Dustin) Brinckman of LaPorte, Indiana; grandchildren, Olivia, Andrew, Nathaniel, Jaiden, Elizabeth, Lydia, Lillian and Noah; his grandmother Frances Prusa of Union Pier, Michigan; step children, Cayla (Aaron) Westfall, of Benton Harbor, and Dakota Kinney of Bridgman, his sister Laurie Prusa James of Three Oaks, his step brother, Mark Manis of South Bend, Indiana and numerous aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Jay R. Prusa, step son, Adam Meadows and grandson Adam.
