Joseph Samuel Roget, Sr., 68, of Dallas, GA, husband of Janna (Garvin) Roget for 41 years, passed away on Sunday morning, June 21st in Georgia. Born one of five children on May 12, 1941 in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Leslie A. and Lula (Worrell) Roget.
Joseph, affectionately known as “Sugar Bear,” received his formal education at Our Lady Lourdes Catholic School in New York, and he later attended Machine Tool and Trade School. In 1972, he became employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in Middletown where he retired in 1994.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Joseph Roget, II and his wife, Crystal of NJ, Marlo Garwin of Milford, and Wayne Roget of Middletown; a daughter, Arcena (Roget) Privott and her husband, Rodney, of Middletown; sixteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Leslie A. Roget of Brooklyn, NY and Andre Roget and his wife, Jeannie of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Dolores Birkett and her husband, Ralphe, of Las Vegas, NV and Barbara (Roget) Banks of NY; former wife, Francis (Grissett) Roget of Middletown; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Deacon and Mrs. Woodrow Garwin, Sr. of South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and many other beloved family and friends.
