Joseph Robert (Bob) Sapp, of Glen Burnie, passed away on Nov. 11, 2020. He was born in Baltimore, MD on March 28th, 1942 and was raised in Brooklyn Park and Pasadena. Bob graduated from Glen Burnie High School in 1960 and attended Anne Arundel Community College and the University of Maryland where he studied accounting and economics. He lived in Glen Burnie for his entire adult life. Bob was a retired Unites States Treasury Agent and worked extensively for the Internal Revenue Service in Baltimore and the Office of the Inspector General in Washington DC. He served with distinction as a Supervisory Criminal Investigator where he staffed and led all field offices in the North East United States from Virginia to Maine. He was also a Senior Special Agent and a Criminal Investigator. Bob’s career encompassed numerous high-profile federal investigations in areas of fraud, narcotics and white-collar crime. Bob was an active volunteer in many national and local organizations. He was a Supervisor of the International Security Team for the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. He also held numerous positions including Chairman of the Executive Board and Vice President of the Dundee and Associates Community Association from 2002 – 2016. His training in accounting prepared him for service as Treasurer in many organizations including Indian Guides, the PTA, Little League, and other civic organizations. He was widely relied upon for someone who was always ready to lend a hand as needed.
Bob and his wife and soulmate of 53 years travelled widely including trips to many areas of the Continental US, Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. These adventures always ended with exciting stories and a new group of friends. An avid Colts and Ravens fan, Bob attended hundreds of games and was a member of the Colts Corral and Ravens Roost 18 (Glen Burnie). He also enjoyed reading and puttering around the house. Bob Sapp was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather.
