Born June 16, 1924, in Logansport, he was the son of Joseph R. Sr. and Ethel M. Damm Minnick. He was married Jan. 31, 1945, in Logansport, to Marie Eileen Baade, who survives.

He attended St. Joseph School and Logansport High School.

He was a lifelong farmer and drove a school bus for over 20 years for Washington Township School and Southeastern School Corporation.

He also was a carpenter and constructed several homes and garages in the area. He worked at Bowlmor Lanes for a number of years.

Joseph was an avid fisherman and loved NASCAR racing and was especially a fan of Jeff Gordon. He was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Surviving are children, Ron Minnick and wife, Joanne, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Robert Minnick and wife, Ingrid, and Lou Ann Doty and husband, Tom, all of Logansport; grandchildren, Scott Minnick and wife, Cindy, and Mark Minnick and wife, Becky, all of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Dan Minnick and wife, Kasia, and Angela Crook and husband, Kevin, all of Logansport, and Michael Doty and wife, Hilary, Avon; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant sister.
