Joseph Richard Green was born on July 1, 1935 in Cambridge, MA to the late Violet (Blackman) and Leslie Green.  He was the youngest of 7 children born from their union.

Joseph (Joe) grew up in Cambridge and graduated in 1949 from Houghton Elementary School, and Rindge Technical School in 1953.  Upon graduating from high school, Joe enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country.  In 1964 Joe married the late Erline L. Parris, and from this union one son (deceased), and one daughter was born.  In 1970 Joe married Silvia C. Brewster, and from this union, two sons were born.

Joe worked for many years at Acoustic Research, Raytheon, and the US Post Office.  Upon his retirement, Joe attended Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and completed the Professional Chef Program.    He used his skills by working part time at Whole Foods in Wellesley and working at the Boston International Seafood Show at the World Trade Center each year.    Joe loved music, especially classical and music from his favorite artist the late George Beverly Shea.

His unselfish, humble, honorable, and God-fearing spirit will be so greatly missed by all who knew him.

Joe was predeceased by his parents; sisters: Mabel Levarity, Eleanor (Cleland) Haywood, Silvia (Howard) Jones, Violet Jackson; Brothers: Benjamin Green, Rev. Edward Green; grandson: Timothy Michael Adams
