Joseph Paul Davis
07/26/60 – 07/13/16

Our beloved husband, son, and brother, Joseph Paul Davis, passed away on July 13, 2016, after a long illness. He was born to Arnie and Peggy Davis on July 26, 1960 in Ogden. He was raised in Ogden and S. Ogden and attended Ogden City and Weber County schools.

At age 14, Joe started working at “The Fun House” and Broadway Shoe Repair (where he built his own “Kiss” boots). He also had his own trucking business for a few years and worked at the IRS and HAFB where he finally retired.

He met the love of his life, Cindy, at Beus Pond Park in Ogden in 1997. They enjoyed trips to Henry’s Lake and Yellowstone. They were married on March 29, 2007 and settled in South Ogden along with their two labs, Sammie and Buddy.

He was an avid golfer, loved fishing on the Weber River, and playing with his labs. He was a huge fan of the SD Chargers and NASCAR where he enjoyed arguing with his sister Lisa about driver preference.

Joe is survived by his wife, Cindy, his lab Buddy, mother Peggy Davis, two sisters; Lisa Armading and Sherry Davis (Shawn Callister), step daughter Michelle Swofford (Joe Wood), two step grandsons; Luke Porter and Bryan Garder, one step granddaughter Jenna plus nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Arnie, grandparents Walter and Iva Loghry and Clyde and Ruby Davis, several aunts and uncles, and his labs Girl and Sammie.

Joe and Dad have found a choice fishing hole already and are drowning worms together.

The family would like to thank IHC Hospice, especially Lissa his nurse, and Donna from Visiting Angels and all those who helped in Joe’s comfort in his final days.
