Joseph Edward Wyatt, Sr., “Papa Joeâ€, 59, of 625 Taylor View Drive, Patrick Springs, VA died Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at his home. Born on July 21, 1953 in Smyth County, VA, he was a son of the late Ira Bane Wyatt and Maude Evans Wyatt. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Mary Branson and his mother-in-law, Sallie Catron. Mr. Wyatt was retired from Pillowtex Mills in Fieldale, VA with 33 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Martha Catron Wyatt of the home; son, Joseph Wyatt, Jr. of Patrick Springs and Dawn Haden; daughter, Rebecca “Becky†Hopkins and Todd Williams of Rocky Mt., VA; seven very special grandchildren and three special step-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, William Mary Wyatt of Patrick Springs, Richard Sue Wyatt of Spencer, Jerry Donna Wyatt and Jim Debbie Wyatt, all of Spencer; Larry Holley Wyatt of Chilhowie, VA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Ann Kendrick Kenny West of Stuart, Susie Gary Armstrong and Janie Gillispie of Chilhowie; brothers-in-law sisters-in-law, Richard Shirley Catron, William Patricia Hileman, Darlene Glen Gibson and Millie Reed; special friend, Randall Fagg.
