Joseph Michael Trilli, 91, of Bethlehem, passed peacefully into the arms of his Saviour on Saturday, September 1, 2018, while being surrounded by the love of his family in his home.
Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Rose (Figlilo) Trilli. He graduated from Liberty High School in 1944, and then served his country in the US Army during WWII. He served in various positions during his working career, most notably working for the City of Bethlehem for over 27 years in the Fire Department, retiring in 1978 as the Fire Commissioner. After retiring from the Fire Department, he worked for the Commonwealth of PA as an investigator for the Department of Labor and Industry. Joe was a wonderful man who put service before self, and was loved by his son and family, many relatives, friends and neighbors. He loved to play the horses, and would often go to the Downs with Jim Hartzell and other friends. He loved a good game of poker or playing craps. He made computer cards for his family for Christmas and birthdays, and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Joe was a lifetime member of Bethlehem UNICO, a member of the American Legion, and a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Allentown. He was a generous man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors: Brian Trilli and his wife Mary Ann of Allentown; grandson Daniel Trilli and his companion Patience Eberts, granddaughter Michelle Trilli; a great-grandson and his namesake, Joseph Trilli; and many nieces and nephews who he loved deeply. Joseph was predeceased by his brothers Angelo and George Trilli.
