Joseph K Roberts, age 88 of Milford, CT, loving husband of 61 years to the late Mildred T (Nuzzi) Roberts passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021. Joe and Millie have been reunited in heaven, fulfilling their wedding vows to be together, “not for just an hour, not for just a day, not for just a year, but always.” Joseph was born on January 26, 1933 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Riccio) Roberto.
On September 26, 1953 he married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Mildred Nuzzi. They raised their children in Milford. He began a career with Sikorsky Aircraft that spanned four decades as a toolmaker and foreman before retiring as a manufacturing engineer. He also served as a steward with the Teamsters Union, Local 1150. After retiring, he went on to work for Baybrook Remodelers. An avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and bowling and loved his Yankees and Giants. He enjoyed taking long car rides and traveling with Millie.
Joe is survived by his children Linda Borer of West Haven, Joseph (Kelly) Roberts of Trumbull, Lori Roberts of Milford and James (Shelly) Roberts of Naugatuck, grandchildren Jennifer, John and Katie Borer, Joseph and Blake Roberts and Justin Roberts and great-grandchildren; Vincent, Sophia, Austyn, Hunter, Liliana and Charlee. He is also survived by his caregiver and best friend Alfredo ‘Al’ Evangelista. He was predeceased by his brothers Dan, John and Harold Roberts and sisters Edith Driscoll and Marie Melone.
