Joseph “Joe” Murray, 69, of Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 19, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 1, 1943, in Evanston, the son of Joseph P. and Fannie May Dixon Murray.
He is survived by one brother, Carl (Kellie) Murray of Jacksonville; four sisters, Betty Dishmon, Lucille Murray and Sheila Mack, all of Chicago, and Beverly Bost of Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Todd and Donna Strong; and one brother, James David Murray.
Mr. Murray was an outdoorsman, and loved gardening, fishing and hunting. He was a Chicago White Sox fan. Joe loved helping people and would do anything for anybody. He had a loving spirit and a strong will.
