(USAF LT. Col. Ret.) Joseph J. Timmer passed away October 10, 2012. He had been a resident of Fort Walton Beach for 41 years. The past year he resided in Virginia to be close to his daughter and son.

Our father was born January 25, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to immigrant parents from what is now known as Croatia and Hungary. He graduated from East High School in 1941.

Dad Served in WWII in the Army Air Corp as a pilot. In 1950 he was recalled into the USAF as a pilot during the Korean War. He went on to remain in the Air Force serving in the Viet Nam war as forward air control. He received several recognitions for his leadership, organizational and flying skills during his career as an Officer.

Dad was an accomplished accordion player, avid bowler, and loved maintaining his yard.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Hazel B. Timmer. He is survived by his son. John M. Timmer, (wife Brenda,) daughter JoAnn T. Pepe (fiancé Thomas S. Taylor,) grandson John J. Timmer, granddaughter Leslie P. Jarden (husband Jim,) great grandsons Jacob L. Timmer, Cameron c. Jarden, Tyler J. Jarden, and great-granddaughter Sloane E. Jarden.
