Joseph J. Devers, 89, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2014 at his residence in Muncie. He was born August 25, 1924, in Yorktown, the son of Joseph and Helen Kreager Devers, and attended local schools.
He was employed by the Muncie Community Schools for seventeen years prior to his retirement.
Joseph was a Golden Member of Eagles Lodge Aerie #231 and Moose Lodge #33.
Surviving are his grandson, Shane Oxley; two great grandchildren; special friends, Richard and Terri Harris; and several nieces and nephews, including his special nieces, Annette Leasure and Theresa Helms.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Daffron Devers; his son, Leon Oxley, Jr.; and two sisters, Betty Luttrell and Patsy Gaelion.
