Joseph Gray Cannaday, 81, of 2937 Oak Level Road, Bassett, VA died Monday, May 10, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County, where he received the best of care. He was born on January 15, 1929 in Franklin County, VA to the late Stephen Harden Cannaday and Hattie Sue Stone Cannaday. Mr. Cannaday was a member of Fort Trial Christian Church, Bassett, VA and worked for E. I. DuPont for 37 years before retiring. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ingram Cannaday of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Gilda and Michael Netherton of Bassett, VA, Rhonda and Tom Hatchett of Leatherwood, Carman and Jack McDowell of Bassett, VA, Elizabeth and Kevin Draper of Hillsborough, NC and Deborah Heath of Fieldale, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Cindy Cannaday of Ferrum, VA; thirteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
