Joseph Gene Fehr, 72, of Metamora, IL passed away at 8:32 pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Sharon Elms Health Care in Peoria. He was born on January 5, 1945 in Peoria, IL to Clifford and Mary (McDermott) Fehr.
Joe grew up in Metamora. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Korea during the 1960’s. He then joined the Navy and was deployed to Vietnam. He was employed by Pabst Brewery in Peoria in the 1970’s. He enjoyed Pabst Blue Ribbon beer and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Joe married Darlene O’Connor in 1985 in Mexico, MO where he lived until her death in 2005. He then returned to Metamora.
Surviving are his uncle Gene Fehr of Peoria; nephew Jay Miller, Jr. of Metamora; and cousins Derek (Bekka) Fehr of Metamora and Michele Lehman of Peoria. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Fehr, twin brother Jerry Fehr, sister Judy Miller, brother-in-law Jay Miller, Sr., and niece Cherie Miller.
The family thanks Tammy Welsh Rayner for her love and care for her “Uncle Joe” in his final years.
