DIEMER Joseph F., age 97, of Broomall, PA, died peacefully on September 5, 2018. Joe served in the Army Air Corps during WWII, in the European Theatre. He was a B-24 “Liberator” Pilot. At the end of the war, he attended Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey, on the GI Bill. Following graduation, he pursued a career in aerospace engineering, spending the majority of his career with General Electric.While in college, Joe met Gloria Macri, who would become his bride of 60 years. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was involved in activities in support of St. Anastasia Parish for many years, and was particularly involved with the St. Anastasia’s Seniors. Joe was predeceased by his wife Gloria C. (nee Macri), his daughter Joan Diemer, his parents George C. and Elizabeth (nee Davey), and his brothers, George (Ethel) and John (Georgette). Joe is survived by his daughters Patricia Hardy (Bob), Therese Westphall (Don), Dorothy McCrudden (Brian) and Clare Diemer, as well as 15 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
