Joseph F. Coppolo, age 81, of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. Born in Norwalk on February 21, 1930, he was the son of the late Angelo and Maryann Coppolo and had lived locally all of his life. He attended Norwalk schools and was a renowned local drummer. Joe served in the U.S. Army and played drums in the Army Band and then started working as a barber. He worked for many years at the County Barber Shop and then Mr. Joseph’s, both located in Westport. He was also an avid bowler and a member of the Norwalk Musician’s Assoc., Local 52. Joe was also predeceased by sisters Jennie Vigilio, Rose Samela, Grace Cianci and Mary Peloso, and his brothers Frank and Nicholas Coppolo.
