Biography

Dybczak, Joseph John –In Ventura on September 22, 2010, peacefully and in the presence of family. Joseph is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Sophie and Joseph, his brother Walter, niece Karen, and nephew Timmy. He is survived by his wife Coletta, his daughters, Joanne Molloy and Claire Thoele , his son John, son in law Tod Thoele, and daughter in law Lesley. He was also a wonderful and caring grandfather to Kyla, Derek, Dylan, and James.

Joseph was the son of Polish immigrants who settled in Lima, Ohio. They eventually moved to Washington D.C. where Joe worked as a machinist at a naval factory. It was in D.C. that he met his wife Coletta, an Irish girl from San Francisco, who was working there as a nurse. They married and raised three children together.

Joseph was a devout Catholic throughout his life and if he could help it, never missed Holy Mass. He loved to have fun and went fishing almost every day after retirement. He enjoyed his martinis before
before dinner, and always chose to make light of most every situation.

Not having gone to college, he did not have the title of engineer but was known as an “engineering technician”. His job as a civilian working for the navy had him working around the world, in and out of combat zones. He traveled from Rio de Janeiro Brazil, to South Africa, and Mozambique, Vietnam, Thailand, Scotland, Japan, and too many others to name here.
