Joseph Edward Dodge was born to the late John Platz and Sally Platz in Pennsylvania on July 14, 1956.
Joseph attended Public schools and obtained his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts where he enjoyed working with the elderly at the nursing home and continued his employment with Beech Grove Schools until his death.
In this holy union, Joseph was blessed with four step children, Matthew, Melinda, Lemuel & Prince.
Joseph was a kind and gentle hearted person, always willing to help out where he could. Joseph and Alma celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary in December 2021. Joseph will be dearly missed by us all.
Joseph had one son, Joseph Edward Dodge Jr who preceded him in death. Joseph is survived by his wife, Alma Jean Dodge, step sons: Matthew, Lemuel & Prince, step daughter Melinda & his son in law Carl, which he referred to as his personal Tech guru. Joseph will be missed by all his grandchildren: Carl Stockdale, Matthew Stockdale, Aeriona Caudle, Lemuel Gathing, Madonna Gathing, Lamonica Gathing, Shaynisha Gathing, Angel Gathing, Joshua Gathing, Ashley Gathing & Charlie Gathing and one great granddaughter Kaymonii Gathing
