Joseph D. Pietoso, 96, of Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Twp., NJ passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at home. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he lived in Edison, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp in 1980. Joseph was a Kitchen Designer for Hilton Hotels for 20 years then for Southern Equipment. He later worked for the Toms River Township Zoning Department. He was a US Navy WWII veteran. Joseph was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. and was a 4th degree member and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Pope Pius XII Council 4885, Edison, NJ.

He was also a member and past president of the Holiday City Carefree Homeowners Association and the Golf Club. Joseph was predeceased by his wife Mary Pietoso in 1999, his daughter Diane Melnyk in 2009 and his daughter in law Marilyn Pietoso in 2010. He is survived by his son Franco “Frank” Pietoso of Hamilton Square, NJ, 4 grandchildren Randy Pietoso, Susan Stia, Celeste Liverio-Tyler & Richard Melnyk, 5 great grandchildren Joe Melnyk, Nicole Koch, Bradey Liverio, Savanna Liverio & Annalise Tyler, and one great great grandchild Logan Koch.
