Joseph A. Vurciaga, our beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather returned home to our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was at home with his family at his bedside. He was born July 6, 1927 in Vail, SD to Jermone and Mary (Martinez) Vurciaga. He married Charlotte Mehas on September 15, 1946. Together they were blessed with the three loves of his life; Donald G. (who precedes him in death); Gerald (Kathy) of Lakewood, CO and JoLyn (John) Webster of Gilbert, AZ. He is also survived by one sister, Okie Nuanes of Thornton; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Joe worked for many years at Dach Masonry in Denver as a foreman. He helped to build many of the Denver Public Schools and many structures in the Denver Metro area such as, the Tabor-Center, Republic Plaza, Trinity Place. Several of the projects he worked on won Merits of Achievement. Locally, he built the Welcome to Brighton signs and many fire places and homes for friends and family.
