Joseph A. Manfredo, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Holy Family Manor, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Margaret (Ripper) Manfredo. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary in May. Born in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Ernest and Ida (Stuver) Manfredo. Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was an Industrial Engineer for Bethlehem Steel, until retiring in 1982. Joe was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was the Past Exalted Ruler of the Bethlehem Elks Lodge #191 and an active member of the Race Goers Association, the MORA Club and Knights of Columbus. Survivors: his loving wife, Margaret, his sons, Joel Manfredo, his wife Suzanne of Laguna Niguel, CA and their children, Nicole and Kyle; Alan Manfredo, his wife Christie of Anchorage, Alaska and Alan’s daughters, Taryn and Alison of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Constance Manfredo, her daughter Kristine Ramos and her husband, Michael all of Quakertown and her son Michael Manfredo and his wife Kelly of Bethlehem; and 5 great-grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Francis Manfredo who died in 1988.
