Jose Miguel Minaya was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic on August 22, 1979 to Blasina and Miguel Ángel Minaya. From a young age it was evident he had a charisma and light that shined brighter than most in a crowded room. A wonderful son, husband, brother, and friend. Most importantly, a loving and caring father who was devoted to his children, Maison (16 yrs old) and Madison (5 yrs old). Jose was the type of men who had many fears but never let them show. He was a strong patriarch who would stand in front of any danger to protect his loved ones. Always determined to work for his own, he was a great car salesman and an amazing landscaper.
Everyone who met Jose throughout his life would agree that his friendship was without compare. He was the type of person you met and immediately felt like he was an old friend. Always supportive and helpful. His heart also held an enormous soft spot for animals.
He was a lover of deep conversations. Especially if it involved aliens, black holes, time travel, the paranormal, other dimensions, and a long list of other mystical topics that fascinated his mind. Though crazy at times, the things he talked about were very carefully thought out in order to reach his goal of making you feel at ease, making you think, laugh and get to know you on a deeper level. He was not afraid to be himself, and this display of self love, would come to make you admire him even more.
He is survived by his children, Maison and Madison, his mother Blasina, his fiancé Fenix, his sisters Bariana (Michael), Maritza (Jose), Minerva, Esperanza, his brothers Miguel Ángel and Carlos Miguel, many nieces and nephews, and lastly all the friends he loved as family. He joins his dad Miguel Ángel in everlasting life where we are sure they will watch over us and continue to protect us as they did in life. We will forever miss Jose, his charm and the wonderful light he was in our lives.
