José Joaquim Gonçalves, 93, passed away on November 9, 2021, at the end of a brief hospital stay. He was known to many and loved by all: he will be especially remembered for his social graces, his exuberance in engaging life’s activities and his many friends, his passion for ballroom dancing, his lifelong interests in hunting, photography and cooking, and his deep and enduring relationships with friends and his immediate and remote family, including a surviving sister and many nieces, nephews ansd cousins in his native Portugal, Mozambique and Mexico. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Katherine L. Gonçalves, and is survived by his three sons, Ricardo, Mark and Neil, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
