Jose Ernesto Salas, age 57, joined the Lord on October 2, 2021. Jose Ernesto was born in Tlalnepantla, Mexico on November 7, 1963, to †Jose Salas and †Guadalupe Salas.
Ernesto married Tana Salas on December 2, 2020, who survives him in the family home. He is survived by his daughters; Joanna Carrasco, Sara Salas, Rebecca Salas and his grandchildren; Ian, Pricilla, Nayomee, Arian and Daven. He is also survived by his siblings 2 brothers and 5 sisters Enrique Salas, Teresa Serrano, Rosa Garcia, Norma Salas, Juan Salas, Lupita Salas and Cony Salas.
Ernesto was preceded in death by his parents, †Jose Salas and †Guadalupe Salas and his sister †Carmen Marin.
For over 20 years, Ernesto worked in the Electrical Construction Industry. The last four of those years he was a Technical Construction Representative for American Electric Power in and around Texas, Oklahoma, and other states. He took pride in his work and was considered by his colleagues a great friend and teacher.
Ernesto had an explorer’s soul. He enjoyed hunting, off-roading, fishing, traveling, and listening to music.
He was a very romantic person, which, showed in the kind of music, such as Marco Antonio Solis y Los Bukis. He had a lot of love to give, he would often speak of his daughters especially his grandchildren and how big of a blessing they were to him. There was nothing he would not do for them especially when they were kids.
Ernesto was an amazing son, friend, and brother like no other. He was a man of very few words and believed that it was better to be known for his actions rather than being known as a man full of meaningless words. Even though he was always on the road and had to be away from home for work, he always managed to fulfill his duties as a father to provide for his family and would often check in on his siblings to see how they were doing.
Ernesto was a fighter till the very end. Knowing God was going to call him home at any day but trying to stay on Earth for as long as he could, he requested a last meal to spend time surrounded by his siblings. He expressed to them that his cancer would not win over his faith in God and that as long as his siblings were by his side, he would fight till his very last breath. Although he lost his battle to liver cancer after four years of being diagnosed, he fulfilled his promise to fight till his last breath with his wife and siblings by his side holding his hands as he slowly faded away and took his last breath!
Ernesto, you are a man of your word and an example for others to follow your lead. You will be missed by all who truly knew you and may God give you your eternal rest and peace! We pray that you are wrapped by our dad and mom’s warm embrace and may you be free of pain and suffering while playing with our sister up in heaven. We will see you once again someday but, in the meantime, pray and watch over us just as you did in this life!
You loved and believed in Saint Michael the Archangel because he is a champion of all Christians, the Church itself and resides in communion with God. May he escort you to heaven, protect you and stand by your side during your heavenly judgement. All this we pray!
