Jon Patrick Klopfenstein, 57, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully at 9:06 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness.
He was born March 16, 1960, in Elkhart, to Mr. and Mrs. Keith E. and M. Joanne (Williams) Klopfenstein, who survive him in Elkhart.
Also surviving is his brother, Kent Klopfenstein and sister Susan Massey, both of Elkhart; nieces Megan (Nathan) Yeager and Sarah Fann, both of Elkhart; and his inseparable best friend and brother-in-law, Chris Fann of Elkhart.
Preceding him in death were his grandparents, James and Mabel Klopfenstein and Herbert and Ethel Williams.
Jon had worked in the dry cleaning business since before high school.
He started with his parent’s business, Personalized Services Dry Cleaning of Elkhart, and then moved on to Ziker’s Dry Cleaning of South Bend in 1998, where he worked at the time of his passing.
He was a hard worker and valued the concept of a job well done.
His eclectic collection of interests included his avid desire to read, woodworking, music, vintage cars, American history and picking and collecting antiques.
However, his love remained steadfast for his family; especially his two nieces, and he will be best remembered for unique and giving outlook on life and people.
