He was the oldest of 9 children and is survived by his wife, Julia Moore; daughter, Sandra Drake; son, Michael Moore; daughter, Carol Lovato; son, Christopher Moore; and daughter, Elizabeth White; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Johnny served as a mental health nurse in the Air Force from 1973 – 1989, and as a mental health nurse with the Veterans Administration Hospital from 1989 – 1999. Johnny was a Fourth Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus..
