Johnny Lowell Thompson, age 64, of Roxanne Street, Clearfield, passed away Friday, July 13, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

Born August 6, 1953, in Hillsboro, he was a son of the late John Huff Thompson and Freda Parish Thompson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jonathon Landon Thompson and one daughter, Dana Lyn Howard.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Connie Gibson Thompson, whom he married April 28, 1979; one son, Brad Thompson of Clearfield; eight grandchildren, Shayla Adkins, Khi Adkins, Haley Thompson, Tanner Easterling, Jordan Thompson, Jentry Thompson, Jelesa Thompson, and Josie Thompson, all of Morehead; and one great grandson, Corbin Kidd.

Other survivors include two brothers, William “Bill” Thompson and wife Melissa and Danny “White Owl” Thompson; one sister, Jacqueline Johnson and husband Sean, all of Maxey Flat; several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Johnny was a self- employed carpenter and worked for many years alongside his dad and his brother “White Owl”. He was a former employee at the Nuclear Engineering Plant on Maxey Flat. Johnny enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and especially loved arguing with his grandson Khi and bonding with his granddaughter Shayla.

Johnny was a great husband, dad, papaw, and brother. He loved to make people laugh and brightened everyone’s day with a funny story. Johnny loved playing Santa Claus for the children.
