God reached down with his loving arms and took Johnnie R. Ketchem home, on June 14, 2012.
He was born July 22, 1948 in Muncie, and resided in Anderson most of his life. John was a 1966 graduate of Muncie Southside High School and earned his Associate’s Degree from Ivy Tech State College in 2005. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked at Cole TV for 14 years; Alpine for over 10 years; Delco Remy America for 8 years; and Northstar Aerospace for 5 years, retiring in April of 2011. He was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and The American Legion. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW. He is survived by his wife whom he married June 21, 1968, Virginia L. “Ginny” Rozelle Ketchem; children, Jennifer R. Young Jeremy of Pendleton & children, Laken Elizabeth, Casey Kendall and Mason Cole; Jessica R. Ketchem-Ebbert Josh of Anderson & children Aiden Wade, and Ivy Blue; and Jonathan R. Ketchem of Anderson and son, Alexander Christopher Williams; mother, Joan Curts Ketchem; sister, Bonnie Garner of Muncie; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews; many special friends; and his beloved church family.
He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Ketchem in 1998.
