Mr. John Willie “Cheetah” Howze, 60, a resident of 1414 Hampstead Dr., died Thursday, May 26, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital.
Mr. Howze, the son of Iola Howze, was born June 14, 1944 in Shelby. For most of his adult life he was a resident of High Point and a member of True Standard Holiness Church. He was a former employee of Marine Tooling in the lamination department.
His mother; three brothers, Raymond Howze, Dave Howze, and Charlie Howze, Jr., all preceded him in death.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Patricia G. Howze of the home; three sons, John Gray, Darrell Howze, both of High Point, and Steve (Jeanita) Gray of Raleigh; one daughter, Sheila McInnis of Atlanta, Ga., nine grandchildren; six brothers, Robert Howze, Bobby C. Berry, William Berry, James Berry, Eric Smarr, all of High Point, and Samuel Smarr; two sisters, Della Faye Smarr and Barbara Ann Brevard, both of High Point; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
