Mr. John William Roberts, 84, of Burlington went on to be with the Lord on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 1:35 p.m.
A native of Iredell County, he was the husband of the late Betty McCullough Roberts and son of William Pascal Roberts and Ethel Foster Roberts, both deceased. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean War (1953-1955). He graduated in 1962 from N. C. State University with an Electrical Engineering Degree and retired from AT&T with 41 years of service. John was affectionately known by his co-workers as “Fireball” and his family as “Bud”. He was a member of Northside Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon, Clerk of Sessions and Sunday School teacher. He was a servant of the Lord for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Roberts Kimrey and husband Cal and Lisa Roberts Ingram and husband Rick; son, Tim Roberts and wife Carmen; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, James Lloyd Roberts; and sister, Margaret Roberts Carter.
