John W. “Johnny Bill” Murray, age 70, of Route 1, Lucretia Community, Grafton, was carried home to the Lord on the wings of angels, March 22, 2013,while surrounded by his family. He was born in Grafton, November 2, 1942, a son of the late Ralph E. Murray, who preceded him in death February 27, 2011, and Betty Ann (Isner) Murray, who preceded him in death June 2, 2012. His wife, Roberta Ann “Bobbie” (Runner) Murray, survives. They were united in marriage, November 10, 1967.
Johnny Bill graduated from Grafton High School, class of 1960. He was a US Marine veteran having served in the Vietnam War, where he attained the rank of Sgt. He was retired from Comcast where he worked as a “cable guy”. He was a member of the VFW Memorial City Post 3081, Grafton. He was known as “the Mayor” of Lucretia, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
