John Ward Jr, 86, of Anderson, passed away on April 24, 2013 at his residence. He was born on October 3, 1926 in Pendleton, Indiana and spent his childhood in the Cleveland area before moving back to Pendleton. John graduated from Pendleton High School and served his country in the US Army. He retired from Guide after 40 years of service. He was a member of Indiana Knife Collectors Association, Circle City Knife Club. He was also a woodcarver, avid sports fan and, golfer. He was a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his children Susan Wayne Huffman, Carol Vincent Swango, Michael Ward all of Anderson, IN, sister, Betty Joseph Janowski, granddaughter, Amber Sigler, grandson, Vaughan Swango, great-grandchildren, Austin, Astin and Ava Sigler.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Yocum Ward, father, John Ward Sr., mother, Verna Myers Ward, brother, Jim Wilkinson and special friend, Wanda Green.
