John W. Sutton, 84, died Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center.
John was born December 10, 1936 to Hubert and Margaret (O’Leary) Sutton in Iowa City. He was a graduate of Roosevelt High School and Drake University. John was an Army Veteran serving overseas in Germany. He began his with career with Allied Mutual Insurance where he met the love of his life, Kay. John later worked as a Data Supervisor for Super Valu Foods, retiring in the late 1990s. John enjoyed fishing, taking trips to Canada and Minnesota. He was an avid Hawkeye fan, Chicago Cub fan and was a regular attendee at Iowa Cubs games.
Survivors include his wife, Kay; children: John (Tisha Creger) Sutton of Urbandale, Tom (Sharie) Sutton of Grimes, Michelle (Mike) Gartner of Des Moines; grandchildren: McKenna, Sydney, Grace, Christopher, Margaret “Maggie”.
