Following his service he was dedicated to the care of his parents and aunt and running the family business, Carlson Signs. Tommy was a master at sign making and especially boat lettering, with customers at many marinas all over the Cape. Faith was a very important part of his life, he attended Christ Chapel in Centerville and was a member of their music choir for many years. Tommy had a beautiful singing voice and was very talented at playing the organ, he took that talent and expanded it as the founder of the Cape Cod Organ Society. Tommy loved to travel and journeyed to destinations all over the world. He spent his winters in Florida and could always be found sitting in the sun on the beach.
