John Norris Taylor, 80, of Ottawa, IL passed away Monday, December 16th at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
John was born July 31st, 1939 to Earl and Louise (Passini) Taylor. He competed in track and went to state in wrestling before graduating from Ottawa Township High School in 1958. He then proudly served in the US Navy until 1964.
He married Joyce Elaine Cain on June 27, 1964 at St. Patrick’s Church in Ottawa and worked at Sundstrand as an electrician until retirement.
John is survived by his daughters, Jeanette (John) Haerle, Julie Taylor, Jana (Paul Rogalla) Taylor; grandchildren, Alyssa (Eddie Turner) Russell, Brandon (Kaytlin Ungles) Haerle, Lauren Rogalla, Garett Besterfeldt, Kyle Haerle, Keifer Besterfeldt, Lucas Rogalla, Matthew Hearle; great-grandson Ryken Haerle, sister Betty (Joe) Deak, sister-in-law Betty (Broadus)Taylor and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife, Joyce, sisters Margaret Gretencord and Joann Goluba; and brother Earl Taylor.
