John “Toby” Sayers, 52, of Anderson, passed away on November 9, 2012 at Saint John’s Health System, after a courageous 2 year battle with cancer. He was born on November 15, 1959 in Muncie, to Linda Ruth Gustin of Anderson, and Daniel G. Sayers of Muncie.
Toby graduated from Anderson High School in 1978.
Toby loved all sports, but some of his favorite sports teams were the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and he loved IU Basketball.
He is survived by his mother Linda Gustin, daughter, Stacie Sayers, son, John R. Sayers, 2 grandchildren, Madisyn Willhoit and Mason Sayers. He is also survived by 4 sisters and 3 brothers Heidi Sayers, Robin Gustin, Wendy Vanderburg, Lisa Stewart Laut, Bobby and Randy Gustin all of Anderson, and brother Nick Sayers of Muncie, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and 1 great-nephew.
Toby left behind many friends, and special friends, Mark and Patty Hester, Mike, Sandy, and Marty Stapleton, all of Anderson. He was preceded in death by his dad, Gene Gustin, beloved brother, Brian Sayers, and his father Daniel Sayers, and both sets of grandparents.
