John S. Grosso, 93, of Jackson, NJ passed away on January 8, 2016 at home.He was born one of nine children on Mott Street in New York City, NY in 1922 and was a good man who loved life and his family.
John proudly served in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Ebert, DE 768 with the rank of Coxswain (T) receiving the American Theater Ribbon, European Theater Ribbon and also the Victory Medal. After the war, he settled in Queens, NY where he worked for the US Post Office as a letter carrier.
He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers and a member of the VFW. .John retired in 1979 after 30 years with the Post Office and remained active in the community assisting senior citizens. He moved to Jackson in 1994. He is survived by his lifetime partner, Joan Dwan of Jackson, his son John “Jackie” and daughter-in-law Sandy of Princeton Junction, NJ, his brother Alex and sister-in-law Marie of Bayville, NJ, his sister-in-law Caroline of Lakewood and three grandchildren, Justine, Jennifer, and Daniella.
