DURHAM Mr. John Rowland McCurley, 83, of Rougemont, died on Tuesday, April 23, . McCurley was born in Chicago, Ill, to the late John and Irene Elizabeth Tillmore McCurley. He started Old Hickory Motors in 1981 and owned John McCurley Oxford Ford and several used car lots. He loved the car business but his passion was his wife and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Francoise Pasquet McCurley; two sons, John McCurley Jr. and wife, Terry and Kenny McCurley; one daughter, Sonia Herndon and husband, Michael; three grandsons, Nick McCurley, Anthony McCurley and Chandler McCurley; one granddaughter, Brittany Herndon; one precious great-granddaughter, Rayleigh Raine Herndon; three nieces and a loving dog, Peppi.
