John Robert “Bobby” Eckman, III of Burlington Township, passed away at Cooper Medical Center on Tuesday at the age of 75. Bob was born in Mt. Holly and raised in Burlington.
He graduated from Burlington City High School, where he played on the basketball team. Bob then went on to work for and retire from Bell/ Verizon Telephone Company after 35 years of service. He was proud to have worked on projects that included the new Township of Burlington Municipal Building and the Burlington County Offices in Mt. Holly. Bob enjoyed bowling in leagues, but was mostly a “Pool Shark”. He carried a 7 handicap and belonged to T.A.P and the APA.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Bonnie (Nee: Clyde) and their children: John Robert Eckman, IV(Lu-Wen), Jeffrey Scott Eckman (Maggie), Cindy Eckman Christ (Richard), Felicia Zimarowski (Dave); grandchildren: Autumn, Vanessa, Amber Eckman, Brooke Christ, Elliana Zimarowski, a brother Richard “Mike” Eckman (Barbara).
