Indianapolis – John R. Halter passed away the morning of April 10th, 2022 surrounded by family at home. He has now gone to meet Jesus and rejoin his beloved wife, Mary, in heaven.
John was born on March 13, 1940 to Raymond and Helen Halter. He was devoted to family and faith and lived a full life surrounded by those that he loved and who loved him. His unconditional love was a bedrock for his family in good times and in bad and he showed what true strength and faith is through how he lived and loved in spite of his battle with cancer during recent years. He was a longtime member of St.
John was funny, always looking to put a smile on people’s faces.
He will be greatly missed and is survived by his three children: Gary Halter (Kathy), Angela Heinzelman (John), Amy Pfeiffer (Mike), grandchildren: Shaun Heinzelman (Kasie), Shannon Danhauer (Kyle), Chloe Parks, Courtney, Tyler and Emma Halter, Lauren, Mary, Maddie and Rachael Pfeiffer and great-grandchildren: Parker Heinzelman and Cooper Danhauer, siblings: Linda Gaither (Robert), and Robert Halter (Sandra), and many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond Halter and Helen Halter-Cannon, wife: Mary Angela Halter, and granddaughter: Lindsay Heinzelman
