Those left to honor Bob’s memory are his daughter, Becky (Murray) Barge of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Tom (Tami) Stoner of Newton, Travis (Amanda) McConnell of Newton, Preston (Sarah) McConnell of Newton, Marty McConnell of Monroe, Nikki (Manuel) Vasquez of Newton, Tanya (Robert Wince) McConnell of Newton, Shelly Taylor; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and his special friends, the Allspach family.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Ed. M. and Dollie (Gearhart) Taylor; wife, Verna; and son, Mike Taylor.
John Robert Taylor was born February 8, 1929 in Baxter, Iowa. He grew up in Baxter and Missouri, and attended schools in both places. Bob was united in marriage with Verna Dean Meadows. He was a construction worker, and later owned and operated The Mint bar in Newton with Verna. Bob enjoyed fishing and was a member of VFW Post 1655.
