John Roger Martin, 76, of Madrid, Iowa, passed away on April 16, 2021, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
John was born February 24, 1945, in Walnut, Iowa son of Gerald John and Mildred Mary (Murray) Martin. He received his education in Walnut and later the National Education Center where he studied Electronics.
He married Barbara Ann Koehn and they made their home in rural Madrid since 1991. John served 22 years in the United States Navy and upon his retirement, he returned to Iowa. He worked at Batteries and Bulbs until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Brandon Martin.
John is survived by his wife Barbara, daughter Debra (Milton) Smith of Harcourt, IA, son Keith (Erica) Martin of Polk City, IA, grandchildren, Samantha Martin, Zack Martin, Anthony Smith, and Grant Smith.
