HOWARD, Mr. John R. died Tuesday afternoon January 28, 2014. John was born December 4, 1932, in Morgan County, Alabama a son of Clarence and Martha Hardin Howard. During the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Air Force.
He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring in 1988. In 1987, he was united in marriage to Tina Muniz Howard who survives.
Also surviving, 7 children, Diana Crawford of Oklahoma, Juanita Lauren Green of Oklahoma, John Brenda Howard, Jr, of Kalamazoo, Jesse Gonzales, Robert Laurie Juarez, and Rueben Juarez all of Portage, and Eddie Juarez of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Paul Evangeline Howard of Grand Rapids and Charles Jane Howard of Alabama; a sister, Ola Myland of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews.
