John R. Bigler, age 85, of 1624 CH 39, Sycamore, OH, died at 5:25 am on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the residence of his daughter, Diane Parsell, in Sycamore, OH. He was born on June 29, 1937, in Bucyrus, OH, to Roy and Carol (Lust) Bigler. He married Barbara (Armstrong) Bigler on March 19, 1960.

Surviving John are his wife, Barbara, two daughters, Diane (Dennis) Parsell, Sycamore, OH, and Denise (Mike) Klapper, Westerville, OH, his five grandchildren, Kori Parsell, Kyle (Amy) Parsell, Kristen Parsell, Drew Klapper and Jordan Klapper, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles “Chuck” Bigler.

John farmed with his brother, Chuck, for more than 50 years before retiring in his 70s. He was a graduate of Sycamore High School, where he became involved in bowling leagues and carpentry, hobbies that he continued to enjoy throughout his life. Committed to community service and advocating for progress, he served as a Sycamore Township Trustee for 12 years, a member of the Wyandot County Fairboard and a 4-H Advisor for the Mohawk Eager Beavers. John will be most remembered for his love of boating and fishing at Lake Erie, a dedication to family and his quiet, kind demeanor.
