John Leon Polomski, 62, of Bayard, New Mexico, beloved husband, father, pampa, brother and friend, left this world to be with his heavenly father Thursday February 11, 2016.

John was born September 12, 1953 in Silver City, NM to John A. Polomski and Lora Rice Polomski. He worked for and retired from Southwestern Railroad, where he began his railroad career with the Santa Fe railroad as a trackman and later worked as a conductor, signal maintainer, roadmaster and then finished his career as manager of operations with Southwestern Railroad. Because of his passion for railroading, after retirement he continued to maintain the railroad signals and could always be found working on the local crossings.

John had many talents including carpentry and artwork. He loved being outdoors especially hiking on his land, known to him as Jurassic Park and the Lazy JL Ranch. This is where he talked to God, prayed for his family, and found his peace. John was a simple man, never needed much of anything. Everything he did was for his family. He loved is wife with all his heart and his girls and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lovina Benavidez Polomski, three daughters; Hydie Cherie Dominguez and husband Ronnie Dominguez, Jasmine Shel Siqueiros, and Boudica Natashia Polomski, seven grandchildren; James Jon Polomski Dominguez, Isis BronTe Rosales, Kyren Javier Salas, Chambrae Avery Dominguez, Gelsay Keonce Siqueiros, Iyan Alonso Rosales, and Cainan Uriah Rosales, one brother Michael Anthony Polomski and wife Linda Beck Polomski, two nieces; Mika Jo Tivis and her husband Trevor Tivis, their daughters; Sterling Faith and Sailor Grace, Becka Shae Weishaar, and her husband Barrett Weishaar and their daughter Quincy Mae, his father and mother in law, Oscar and Natalia Benavidez, brother in law, Gary Benavidez (Loretta), sister in laws, Nora Holguin (Albert), Debbi Winborn (Waldo), Belinda Lucero and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Lora.
